How to rid of Chemicals/Soap out of my sofa?

My roommates cat peed on my sofa (fabric). She used a pet steam cleaner to rid of the smell. It made it worse. It covered the smell did not get rid of the smell and now there is a horrible chemical smell injected into my sofa. we cant even sit on it or be in the same room. i called an upholstery cleaner where they came out to steam clean. it got rid of some but not all of the chemicals. still cant sit on the sofa. hoping for 3rd time the charm ,i tried a chemical free organic pet urine eliminator. The cat Pee is for the most part gone. but the chemical smell is still suffocating!.. someone please help ..should i steam clean the hell out of the couch with just water to try and get rid of the chemicals?
