Topping or side dish for fajitas!?! * an epic battle of who is right or wrong*?

Hmmm well I live in Los Angeles.. And it doesn't get too much Mexican than this lol (I'm a white boy lol) and I would say they are toppings... Specially cause there is lettuce and sourcream on the plate with the beans.. When I order that it never comes with beans.. But places do it different.. And the fact of the matter is that if it were a side dish wouldn't it be something you would have to order separate? Lol
