Is this right?, or should I tell the truth?

ok so i was cleaning the house and i accidently upset the bird cage and killed the bird that belonged to my little brother, in a moment of panic, i hid the dead bird in our old VCR, i figured it would be ok since no body really uses it, or so i thought, then my brother comes home with a video he rented, opens the vcr and well you can guess what happened. My family assumes that the bird escaped and got trapped in the VCR and suffocated. my brother is very upset and i can't look him in the eye. So am i off the hook or should i tell the truth?
