Why does my hamster sit/sleep in tubes?

My hamster sits/sleeps in the tube that connects to the petting zone. The petting zone is at the top (she's half in the petting zone half in the tube). Why does she do that?. How do I make her stop doing that? Please help I'm worried that she's stuck or going to suffocate. HELP!
